BaRTaRT 2022
Barton Community College
Faculty, Staff, and Student Art Show
April 8th - May 13th
BaRTaRt is Shafer Gallery’s yearly event celebrating students, faculty, and staff at Barton Community College. Students are welcome to enter work they have made during the school year and faculty and staff and asked to show us what they can do too! The student portion of the show is a judged event with prizes, curtesy of a local artist, Billie Bonomo. Which we are very thankful for! This year’s BaRTaRT was judged by Ron Michael, director of the Birger Sandzen Memorial Gallery. Ron is also an artist himself and we have selections from his ceramic work on display in the Gallery alongside our students, faculty, and staff. There are three main categories (painting, graphic media, and ceramics) as well as best overall for the judged portion of the show. Winners for painting include: 3rd Place- Summer Pickings by Karen Gore, 2nd Place-Don’t Move the Spotlight by Isabelle Gonzalez, and 1st Place- Still Life 2 by Tracy Miller. Graphic Media Winners were: 2nd Place-Mind Melt by Ashley Herrman and 1st Place-The Maiden (Much Tribute) by Ruthie Webster. Ceramics Winners: 2nd Place-Navidad by Jaci Guthrie and 1st Place-Textured Flower Pot by Dolores Baker. While Best Overall was Circles by Tracy Miller! Images below of all portions of BaRTaRT.
